US Water Pulsar™ Quantum Disinfection™ Filter for Reverse Osmosis Systems
The polishing filter on your RO is a carbon filter. What if it were a carbon filter that killed bacteria too? That's a game changer! This turns any Reverse Osmosis System into a purifier. This final polishing GAC Cartridge also contains Quantum Disinfection™ Media which kills all bacteria on contact. It works with any Reverse Osmosis system. Why wouldn't everyone use this instead of an ordinary carbon filter?
Quantum Disinfection™ Media is a cationic electron magnet disinfection system for water applications. Its highly charged substrate and surface areas have millions of potential sanitation sites per square micrometer. The media's disinfection capability is a result of energetic, positively charged sites that are created at the media's surfaces, which have been modified through a technological breakthrough (US patent-pending 62/128,160). Any microorganism that comes into direct contact with those surfaces is immediately and completely destroyed. Direct contact causes the entire structure of the microorganisms to collapse.
Here's THE DIRTY LITTLE SECRET about Reverse Osmosis Systems: While RO takes out the largest spectrum of contaminants of any water treatment process, the fact of the matter is that a RO tank is a great breeding ground for heterotrophic bacteria. Heterotrophic bacteria is detected by using Heterotrophic Plate Count (HPC) and while there are no specific numerical guidelines are recommended, it is suggested that they be as low as possible.
Here's the good news: A Quantum Disinfection™ Carbon Cartridge kills ALL BACTERIA, including E-Coli, coliform, Legionella, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Candida albicans and any other microorganism.

The Story Behind Quantum Disinfection™
Quantum Disinfection™ is a new breakthrough in water treatment utilizing technology from the manufacturing of semiconductors. It's sub-atomic quantum structure creates a highly charged surface that instantly destroys bacteria on contact. Nothing added to the water. No chemicals, no electricity and no side effects – just clean, pure water.
What about UV? Some people use ultraviolet lights under their sink to kill bacteria, but they don't actually kill the bacteria. UV neuters it so thee microorganism can't reproduce, but some actually can come back to life later. That's scary. Ultraviolet lights also use electricity, heat up the water lines and embrittle fittings and tubing, creating potential floods under your sink in the process. Silecte™ kills better – up to 99.9999% of the bacteria – and adds nothing to the water. Read more about how Quantum Disinfection™ works HERE.
The Quantum Disinfection™ in-line Carbon Filter is standard on all US WATER reverse osmosis systems, but can be used on any other reverse osmosis system. It uses NSF and FDA Approved Coconut Shell Carbon which is of the highest quality. Polishing your water with GAC and killing bacteria with Silecte – you and your family will have the absolute highest purity water to say nothing of the peace of mind that comes with knowing you are protected… even if the city issues a “boil order.”
Note: This Quantum Disinfection™ cartridge is specifically for use on water that has been treated by reverse osmosis. It is not intended as a stand-alone filter for any other purpose.

Why does it say in the Cobalt Hypersafe RO manual to remove the Silecte filter when sanitizing with Sani-System? In your video it says to keep the post filter in place while sanitizing with Sani-System. I sanitize once a year and replace all my filters (except the membrane) at that time. Please advise what I should do. Thanks! Some models don’t allow the post filter to be bypassed so they can’t be removed. The Sani solution does not harm the post filter, the filter can just strip some of the solution out and not clean the rest of the system as well. It is better to bypass the post filter if possible. If the filter must be left in place to finish the sanitizing process, install the new post filter before sanitizing.
Can you install this filter on a 3 stage RO system? If so, how can that be done?
It just has to be the final filter.
Can you purchase this US Water Pulsar Quantum Disinfection Cartridge in a "value pack" along with the other needed replacement filters for a 5 stage system?
Yes, you can. Here it is:
How often does this filter need to be changed?
Once a year
What is the maximum flow rate to ensure adequate contact time with the small amount of Silecte at the end of the filter?
Do you recommend ganging in parallel to increase gpm?
Yes, parallel installation is the answer.
Do you have available research results (independent) that supports the claim of killing all bacteria in the typical amount of time that water flows through the Silecte™ Quantum Disinfection Filter in normal/typical household scenarios. What is the actual chemical makeup of the disinfecting material (is it quaternarized N-halamine based cationic polymer (CPQN)) ?
We are currently undergoing NSF 42 testing and are in the process of compiling other test data for publication. We have several downloads and more information available at the main website:
The media is an alumina substrate with layers of titanium oxide and silver (non-leaching)
Will that still work with one that produces 100 gal of water per day and will it still produce that amount of water
Yes, it will work fine. It is more a factor of time than of gallons.
What change frequency is required of this bacterial removal finishing filter?
Once a year.
