20" Commercial-Grade Cartridge Filter Housing With 3/4" or 1" Inlet/Outlet - Includes Pressure Relief Valve
This is a commercial-grade high-quality, rugged filter housing built to withstand severe conditions. It's exclusive thread design provides superior sealing and greater security against leaks. The replacement filters are compatable with any 4.5" x 20" filter cartridge on the market. It uses the same cartridges as Ametek, American Plumber, Culligan, Flowmatic, Liquatec, Pentek and Watts, as well as most other brands of housings.

- 20 & 5 Micron Pleated filters for removing moderate amounts of dirt and sediment (typically used for well water)

The unit and filters are really nice and they helped but didn't fully solve our problem
"We have a seasonal at a campground where the well water is hard and has a sulfer smell where the sulfer gas goes only to both bathroom sinks, which are the highest water lines in the camper. Been trying to get rid of the sulfer gas for two seasons trying various 2" size filters in the water cabinet filter housing and even adding another 2" filter housing at the faucet, but they didnt really help the smell and just reduced water flow pressure. I added a camper water softener hoping the resin would help the smell but it didnt, just made the water feel better and no stains in sink or toilet. I called US Water Systems a couple times trying to find a way to make it work without spending 2k on a hydroperoxide system and was given the carbon block filter/carbon radial filter dual 4.5x20" filters idea. In all fairness I was told it won't eliminate the sulfer hydroxide gas like a hydroperoxide system will, but should make it much better. It did improve our water flow pressure back to where it should be and in the first week of it being used it was super awesome. We would turn on the bathroom sinks after even all day sitting unused and maybe 3-5 seconds had a slight smell then gone completely, but over a couple weeks now the smell has gotten stronger and lasts a half minute or so now. Overall it has helped and the smell doesnt last nearly as long as last summer. I don't regret the purchase, I just had higher expectations when the first week was so fantastic. The filters claimed to be a once a year filter for my application, and maybe they will be but with a 30 second runout time rather than 5 seconds. Thats kind of a bummer, but still better."
Q&A
- Can you use any filter in the Big Blue Dual System and have copper pipes in the home? I see that one filter is for RO pretreatment, does this system require you change the piping in the home to a poly line? I am a plumber who was asked to install this for a client, I do not want to put them at risk by over filtering there water supply, and it pulling carcinogens from their existing copper water lines. Thank you for your time.
- Yes, unless you are installing a RO system you do not need to be concerned about the copper pipes. Sediment and carbon filters used in this setup filter sediment and chemicals but does not reduce the total dissolved solids.
