  • I have four wells. #1, 0.0113 (I), 0.0152 (M); #2, 0.0465 (I), 0.0253 (M); #3, 0.0131 (I), 0.0233 (M); #4, 1.06 (I), 0.274 (M). (I=iron, M=manganese) All three wells pump 12 gallons per minute average. 20,000 gpd is typical. Will this unit handle the levels and flow rates? 140-31F-GSP-15

    This system would not be a good fit for you.  You must have enough flow rate from the well pump to backwash the system.  If your well pumps are only capable of 12 GPM, you will need to choose the system that backwashes at the pump flow rate. 

    You will need (3) three of these if you only have 3 well pumps;

    You will need to choose the 10 GPM systems.  You will plumb all three of these in parallel and then offset the backwash time for each unit to ensure they are not backwashing at the same time.  This is the best way to ensure you have the adequate backwash rate for each unit but still meet the service flow rate you require. 

    You will need to inject chlorine prior to these filters to get a 0.5-1 ppm residual chlorine level after the filters.  This helps with the oxidation process prior to the Greensand Plus filter.
