US Water Systems sold the Green Wave salt-free water conditioning system for over ten years. We started with using Template Assisted Crystallization (TAC) and ended up using Filtersorb SP-3 Nucleation Assisted Crystallization (NAC). At the time, this was the best technology available, but times change and technology changes.
The Green Wave was discontinued in 2017, and replaced by the Pulsar system, HOWEVER, if you own a Green Wave, you are not without options. In fact, the Green Wave media is so expensive now, that the new replacement option is not only better… but much less expensive.
The Green Wave Cascade used a radial-flow carbon filter in the blue housing and scale prevention media in the silver tank. There was about 2 pounds of carbon in the radial flow carbon filter which needed to be replaced yearly.
The cost to replace the scale prevention media is $700 to $1,400, depending upon what stage the warranty is in.
Happily, there is a new way that saves money and works better.
