1.25” DROP BACKWASHING SEDIMENT FILTER

Full 1.25” Commercial-Grade Sediment Backwashing Filter - Light commercial backwashing filter which flows up to 37 gpm peak flow and includes Bluetooth Smart Valve Technology which allows you to program the system with any mobile device in about 30 seconds, giving you full control of your water filtration system.

Why You May Need a Backwashing Sediment Filter

A backwashing Sediment Filter has a specific amount of media inside. In this case, the media is a highly specialized Hyper-Filtration Media called Filter-Ag Plus® or Turbidex™. We use these two media interchangeably to remove sediment. This is called “deep bed filtration” which delivers exceptional water quality and reduces the “Sediment Load” on any downstream water treatment equipment, or for that matter, any water fixtures and equipment in general.

This Hyper-Filtration Media filters down to the 3-to-5 micron range, which results in savings for things like water waste, chemical usage, filter cartridges, and membrane service. Unlike older “sand filters” which just mechanically strained sand and sediment, our Hyper-Filtration Media also uses the following methods to rid your water of sediment:

  • Mechanical Straining
  • Sedimentation
  • locculation
  • Physical Absorption
  • Electro-static Absorption
  • Ion-Exchange

    • This effectively removes most sand and sediment and saves time and money in the process. In fact, Hyper-Filtration can produce crystal clear water, down to < 0.1 NTU of turbidity. While the filter media doesn't last forever, it can often be used for several years before it needs to be replaced

    • How Drop Technology Works

    The DROP Smart Hub integrates all parts of this commercial backwashing filter system, and controls up to 12 water softeners and 12 backwashing filters with just the one hub using low frequency radio waves. It can also operate on your home or business WIFI network.

    The DROP automatically monitors your entire water system around the clock, and notifies you if you have a leak. It can even shut the water off to protect your property.

    More Than A Backwashing Filter

    A Total Water Management System for Any Business

    There are two things that need to be articulated here:

    1. This is a backwashing filter, but it is a whole lot more than that.

    2. It will cost less to purchase and operate than any comparable system.

    Single-Tank or Multiplex System

  • The single tank backwashing filter comes with a Bypassing Piston. That simply means that you will have filtered water, except during regeneration, in which case the bypassing piston delivers unfiltered water during that interval
  • The multiplexing backwashing filter comes with a non-bypassing system. That means that you will have filtered water 100% of the time, even during intervals when the filters are backwashing
  • Each Drop Hub can control up to 12 water softeners, 12 backwashing filters and up to 24 other devices. We offer systems from single tank to 5 tanks multiplex, but can custom-engineer up to 12 backwashing tanks if needed

    • Leak Detection and Flood Prevention

    t's a fact that you are seven or eight times more likely to have floor or water damage in your business than you are to have it burglarized. Most businesses have security systems to prevent burglary but have nothing to prevent floods or water damage. The Matrixx Drop changes all of that with it's Dual Leak Detector: (1) It senses unusual flow rates and alerts you to such on your smartphone. You can decide whether you want the system to shut down to prevent water damage; and (2) You can put up to 32 leak detectors in vital places throughout your plant or business. When they sense wetness, they also notify you and shut off the water. You can decide what happens at that point.

    Disruptive Technology

    The 1.25” Matrixx Drop Commercial System operates in conjunction with your WiFi System and is fully programmed by an App on your Smartphone.

    Each tank and tank size has a peak flow of 18 GPM, which means that its continuous flow is 9 GPM per tank. So, if you need 70 GPM Peak Flow, you would utilize 5 to 6 tanks. Each tank monitors flow and water usage. When a tank is exhausted (time to regenerate), it immediately goes off-line and regenerates. Its no-hard water bypass prevents unfiltered water from entering your site, and its built-in lock-out assures that only one tank can regenerate at a time.

    his design assures you that the system can accommodate fluctuations in demand without bleeding any unfiltered water to service while conserving water.

    In periods of low flow, the Drop App automatically takes tanks offline, to prevent unfiltered bleed-through from “channeling of the media.” However, unlike most other systems, which always have one tank offline, the Drop system can have all tanks in service… except when one is regenerating, so that high flow rates are sustainable.
