John Guest (picutred to left) is a world leader in manufacturing die cast push-fit or quick-connect fittings. The company was started in 1961 and the fittings were initially utilized for use in compressed air systems which makes them uniquely suited for potable water as well. These fittings are designed for use with Copper Pipe, Speedfit PEX Pipe, CPVC, and PEX Pipe conforming to US Plumbing Standards. 

The fittings are simple to use and require no tools to make reliable, leak-free connections. Standard Push-In Fittings, Shut-Off Valves, and Polyethylene Tubing are produced from FDA compliant materials and are listed with NSF International Standards 51 and 61.

John Guest’s Standard line of Push-In Fittings, Shut-off Valves, and Polyethylene Tubing has been designed for use with a wide range of industrial water treatment applications involving Water Purification, Reverse Osmosis, Ice Makers, Beverage Dispensing, Vending & OCS, R.V. and Marine, Car Washing Systems and many more.

Polypropylene PP Fittings

how-it-worksThe polypropylene (PP) range of inch-size push-in fittings is offered for tube sizes 1/4" O.D. to 1/2" O.D. The fittings are manufactured in white polypropylene with food grade EPDM O-rings. They have been developed to satisfy the filtered pure water market and wide range of applications.

Acetal PI Fittings

The acetal (PI) range of inch-size push-in fittings is offered for tube sizes 5/32" O.D. to 5/8" O.D. The fittings are manufactured in gray acetal copolymer with food grade nitrile O-ring, making them especially suitable for applications involving foodstuff and potable liquids. They are also suitable for air and inert gases and can therefore be used on CO2 lines, pneumatic applications and vacuum.

 At US Water, we don’t try and stock every John Guest fitting – just the ones that are commonly used with reverse osmosis, drinking water systems and misting systems.  Whenever possible we suggest the polypropylene (PP) fittings but also carry the acetal (PI) fittings because John Guest does not make every fitting in polypropylene.

 

HOW IT WORKS

CUT THE TUBE SQUARE

Cut the tube square and remove burrs and sharp edges. Ensure that the outside diameter is free from score marks.
For soft or thin-walled plastic tubing we recommend the use of a tube insert.

PUSH UP TO TUBE STOP

Push the tube into the fitting and up to the tube stop.

step 2

PULL TO CHECK SECURE

Pull on the tube to check that it is secure. Test the system before use.

TO DISCONNECT

To disconnect, ensure that they system is depressurized, push the collet square against the fitting.
With the collet held in this position the tube can be removed.
