Ask a Question

  • I have a water hardness test kit, where I add one drop of to create suds if soft water. How accurate is this? The date code on my soap solution bottle is 5011114. Is this still accurate?Thank you.Sincerely,John Fisken

The substance you are referring to is called green tincture soap. This soap can go bad over time. However, the date code you provided indicates it is from this year. Generally speaking, it should remain good for use for over 5 years. This test is designed to give you a general idea of how hard or soft your water is. If the test determines that you have over 1 gpg of hardness, then you can assume your water is not truly "soft".
