Reefkeeping Reverse Osmosis & DI Systems

For many aquarium or reefkeeping hobbyists, one of the biggest unknowns is exactly what is in the tap water you use. If you are on city water an annual report is typically issued on the waters quality, so people have a pretty good idea what's in there; but many cities don't issue such reports. Tap water may contain a wide variety of contaminants that may be safe for us, but can be harmful or fatal to aquarium wildlife. Contaminants such as chlorine, chloramine, nitrate, phosphate, lead, copper, and other impurities. This can also lead to the creation of algae, which of course is one of the most undesirable things in an aquarium.

While you may be able to get away with using straight tap water in the short term, these impurities can build up over time, leading to big headaches down the road. The best way to eliminate most source-water contaminants is to process your tap water through a reverse osmosis/de-ionizing system before adding it to the aquarium tank.

At US Water Systems we offer several Reverse Osmosis and Deionization systems. These systems are used in medical labs when the purest water possible is required, and are perfect for your Aquarium to make sure you are starting with a clean slate. The systems are all made in the USA and are compact and easy to install. They also come with a lifetime of customer support.
