Depending on what type of ozone generator system you use,a contact tank may be needed to ensure that the ozone has enough contact with your water to disinfect and oxidize any contaminants. US Water Systems has a range of contact tanks available, with capacities ranging from 30 gallons to 850 gallons. Not sure what size ozone tank you need? Call our experienced ozone engineers at 1-800-608-8792,and we’ll be happy to help you find all of the equipment you need.
Ozone is a very unstable gas,and it quickly decomposes into regular oxygen (also called dioxygen or O2) under normal atmospheric conditions. As a result,it needs to be generated and used at the same location. Once the ozone generator has produced the gas,it needs to be added to the water to be treated via an injector or diffuser. A contact tank holds the ozonated water, giving the oxidizer time to completely treat the water.
When choosing an ozone tank, you’ll need to make sure that you select one that has the holding capacity you need. Different tanks also have varying inlet and outlet sizes, with larger capacity tanks often having the largest inlets. Before you choose a contact tank, make sure that you know what size you need. If you need assistance choosing between ozone tanks, our specialists are available at 1-800-608-8792.
At US Water Systems,we sell fiberglass contact vessels in a range of sizes. Each is protected by an ozone-resistant lining, which is important because ozone can quickly destroy regular water holding tanks. All of our tanks are made of materials approved by NSF International,a public health and safety organization.
In addition, ozone tanks from US Water Systems are designed with a counter-current flow design, with ozone added on one end and water entering on the other. The tanks have a special atomizing nozzle, which allows for ozone contact at maximum efficiency.
