Fleck ProFlo SXT 5000 and 7000 Valves

by Mark Timmons May 06, 2016 0 Comments

I recently had a customer ask about the Fleck ProFlo 5000 and Fleck 7000 valves. They wanted to purchase a ProFlo 5000 SXT Softener and a ProFlo 7000 SXT Filter. I had to tell them that I would not recommend that. Why? Here's the thing: Fleck is obsoleting the 5000 and 7000 models on September 30, 2016. It has been said that they will make parts for 5 more years and then that is it! We have sold Fleck for 40 years but are moving away from them for a couple of reasons:

(1) they are evidently trying to drive business through traditional brick and mortar dealers by denying access of their newest valves to online companies (which costs a unaware consumer double or triple the price); and

(2) they no longer warranty their parts like spacers, pistons and seals under their warranty. They consider it "normal wear and tear" and these parts are no longer covered.

Our Fusion NLT softener has a 10 year warranty on the valve and electronics (Fleck has 5 years) and we cover the wear and tear parts! Additionally, if you buy a filter and a softener, you have two systems to maintain, two systems that waste water during backwash and regeneration, and two systems that use electricity. Our Fusion NLT Hybrid combines both a filter and a softener into one system. The Fusion NLT Hybrid uses up-flow brining (which is unquestionably more efficient) and proportional brining (which regenerates the resin with only the precise amount of salt needed to bring it back to a full charge). We believe that this is the highest efficiency system on the market. Additionally, the NLT Hybrid uses Catalytic Granular Activated Carbon instead of just GAC. This is important, because regular GAC does not remove chloramine, and it is only a matter of time until every municipality moves to chloramine... simply because it costs less (Go Figure). The Fusion NLT Hybrid has a lifetime warranty on the tanks and resin to go with the 10 year warranty on the valve and electronics. We you build them better, you can guarantee them better. Also, you will see that we have awesome installation and service videos and excellent manuals to go with our great technical support. Check out the Fusion NLY Hybrid. I think you will be impressed!
