If you are in the market for a water softener, water filter, salt-free conditioner, or a reverse osmosis system, it would seem logical to “Google” something like “Best Water Softener” or “Best Reverse Osmosis System.” That’s what many people do without really understanding what is happening.
When you Google “Best Water Softener” the search will take you to a page where it says s...
In the 1950s, Eastern Europe was the first to use hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) for drinking water disinfection. H2O2 is known for its high oxidative and biocidal efficiency. Hydrogen peroxide has not been used often for drinking water disinfection, but its popularity seems to increase each year
In short, hydrogen peroxid is the best way to remove iron and/or sulfur from water. Hydrogen peroxide is one of the most powerful oxidizers, and is stronger than chlorine, chlorine dioxide, and potassium permanganate.
If you are a user of Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2), you already know that it is the best way to oxidize iron and sulfur (hydrogen sulfide). You have undoubtedly seen the results that it produces by eradication of the iron and sulfur completely. People are often amazed when water containing high levels of hydrogen sulfide is completely free of the nasty odor after the catalytic process using hydroge...
I am going to tell you about a job which may not be the worst water we have ever seen, but it is sure in the TOP 20! This is about a family in Ohio who had arsenic, sulfur, iron and methane in the water, to go along with some typical hardness. All of those things are problems, but roll them all together and you have a really big problem.
Actually, this job came to us via the US EPA (Env...
We often talk to customers about their water treatment needs then recommend equipment and a treatment process but the water treatment is only a part of your water distribution system. There are several components in your plumbing system from the well pump to the faucets. Water treatment equipment and plumbing system require routine maintenance to operate or perform properly.
You have do...
Nearly everyone we talk to says that they have bad water. Many say their water is the worst that we can imagine. While it seems so to many of them, they really have no point of reference as to how bad their water really is. They just know that they don't like it and that it seems overwhelming to them. The odds are, you don't have the worst water we can imagine. We have seen some water th...
Any type of water treatment equipment needed for well water treatment is secondary to a good water analysis. When you have well water that smells bad and/or stains, the type of equipment you need to fix it depends upon what exactly is in the water and at what level.
For instance, If you have iron and/or manganese (which frequently exist together) in your water, it is imperative that we also k...
If you treat your water right, you should have no problems. Assuming your pH is close to 7, I would recommend a hydrogen peroxide system. It will oxidize the iron, manganese and sulfur all in one shot and most likely bind the arsenic to the iron in the process and remove (or greatly reduce) it as well. Then a simple water softener and reverse osmosis system should give you exceptionally good water.

I would like to know what causes water to smell like rotten eggs. My neighbor down two doors from me is having this problem. The only source of water to their house comes from a well. I notice this every time I turn their outside faucet on to water her garden and or turn on her faucets within the house. It all smells like rotten egss. They of course do not consume the water.
Can you...

We drilled a new well that has both coliform bacteria and high levels of hydrogen sulfide. I have been looking to install a chlorine feeding pump, retention tank and carbon filter. We have used this system in the past at our old house with mixed results. The hydrogen peroxide system looks interesting. Will this system also kill the coliform bacteria and any other bacteria that may be ...
