The Sanis-Air Chemical-Free Water Filtration System is a backwashing filter that requires no chemicals or regenerants.  It simply draws in a head of air during the brine cycle.  This air stays in the top of the tank, and as water flows through it, the water becomes "enriched" with air.  The air provides an additional boost (oxidation) to the supercharged Filox-R media which is 85% manganese dioxide, and is exceptional at removing iron (rust) and manganese from the water.  It will remove up to 15 ppm of iron from the water.   If you have hydrogen sulfide, the media used is Catalytic Absorbative Carbon, and again, the air charge provides an additional boost of oxidation to remove up to 8 ppm of sulfur without any chemicals. 

The Model 1000 control valve used on this system is fully electronic and programmable.  The internals of the valve are a full 1.25" so flow rates of up to 27 GPM are attainable.  This is a heavy media and must be backwashed every 2-3 days for optimum operational efficiency.
