Hurricane ASME filter designs include heavy-duty, stainless steel construction, and hinged swing-bolt lids for easy access to the cartridge. All of these housings are NSF Certified to ANSI-NSF Standard 61. Some of their features are as follows:

HARMSCO Poly-Pleat™ Cartridges are designed for drinking water applications to remove Cryptosporidium and Giardia Cysts and when one micron absolute rated filtration is required. Cartridges are rated for temperatures to 140°F (60°C).* Polypropylene filter media also offers compatibility with many aggressive chemicals. Check compatibility charts for polypropylene media, PVC center tubes and end caps.
Activated Carbon Cartridges for Hurricane Filter Housings come with an outer wrap of pleated five micron polyester media to extend filter life. Activated carbon cartridges are for Hurricane filter housings and utilized for taste, odor and chlorine removal. High carbon content for extended life throughput. The Hurricane has an outer wrap of pleated five micron Polyester-PlusTM filter media to protect the carbon by removing sediment and extend filter life. It is not recommended in drinking water applications where water is not micro-biologically safe.
