QUESTION: We talked some time ago about sulfur removal via your system with US Water. I have some questions for you. I do not recall we ever finished these conversations so if this is review, I apologize. When we talked, you indicated that Fusion OxiGen Iron and Sulfur Eradication System was guaranteed to work. I [...]

Maybe you have heard good things about Filox or Pyrolox or for that matter, Oxylox, Adox, Catalox, Birm or Greensand Plus, and you are thinking about using one of these systems for your water problems. I would strongly advise you to think again. The side effects are bad and [...]

It was about 15 years ago that we started the experimentation of adding air to water to oxidize iron, manganese and sulfur. We have did this on and off many times since then, but it was only recently that we really hit upon a system design that we knew would be economical, sustainable, scalable and [...]

The buzz for iron and sulfur (rotten-egg odor) removal these days seems to be the word “chemical-free.” However, let me remind you that things that sound too good to be true, usually are. The newest way many water treatment companies are trying to remove iron is with the use of oxygen or air. They simply [...]

If you treat your water right, you should have no problems. Assuming your pH is close to 7, I would recommend a hydrogen peroxide system. It will oxidize the iron, manganese and sulfur all in one shot and most likely bind the arsenic to the iron in the process and remove (or greatly reduce) it as well. Then a simple water softener and reverse osmosis system should give you exceptionally good water.

We have used this system in the past at our old house with mixed results. The hydrogen peroxide system looks interesting. Will [...]
